Thousands of volunteers from across the world have joined the FIFA 2022 World Cup Qatar Volunteer Programme. With the world’s largest football tournament set to take place in Qatar, the programme is set to be the biggest ever in the country’s history. The programme was launched in March and has received more than 100,000 applications from more than 170 countries. It is open to both male and female applicants who are aged 16 to 18. They need to have a passion for football and a willingness to work as part of a team. They will also need to speak English, Arabic, and at least one other language.
The programme will involve a total of 20,000 volunteers, including 15,000 from within Qatar. They will be responsible for ensuring that World Cup 2022 runs smoothly. They will work in various areas, including stadiums and outside the venues. They will be expected to work a minimum of 10 days in shifts of 6-8 hours per day.
The programme is supported by Coca-Cola, McDonald’s, and Adidas. Volunteers will also receive free food and accommodation for the duration of the tournament. Each shift is eight hours long and includes one meal. Volunteers will also have one day off every seven days. They will also be given training to help them perform their role and gain valuable experience.
The programme will provide 350 training sessions online and in-person. During the course of the tournament, volunteers will work in 45 different functional areas. Volunteers will work in stadiums, outside the stadiums, and in the community. They will also take part in team-building exercises.
Volunteers will need to be able to commit to a minimum of ten days during the tournament. Most shifts start four to five hours before a match begins. There are also a number of volunteer roles that will start as early as October.
Applicants are required to have an English language skill, and must be aged 18 on 1 October 2022. They will then undergo a selection process that will see them undergo group exercises and interviews. This will help them to highlight their strengths, motivation, and suitability to join the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022(tm) Volunteer Team.
Applicants must then book a face-to-face interview in Qatar. This interview will help them to highlight their motivation, their passion for football, and the suitability of their skills to join the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022(tm) volunteer team.
The FIFA 2022 World Cup Qatar Volunteer Programme will take place from 21 November to 18 December 2022, with some volunteer roles beginning as early as October. Volunteers will be required to commit to a minimum of ten shifts during the tournament, and the programme hopes to attract 5,000 volunteers from outside Qatar. The volunteers will be required to work in eight stadiums and in the communities around the stadiums.
Volunteers will have the opportunity to see some of the best players in the world. European stars such as David Beckham, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Zinedine Zidane will be amongst the star-studded line-up.
